Shundra Harris, ASID, NCIDQ, RID

Shundra Harris is the founding CEO and Principal Designer of Shundra Harris Interiors, a diversified interior design firm that delivers innovative interior design solutions for residential and commercial projects. Creating interiors for nearly 20 years, that elevate workplace and family life, promoting an unapologetic balance, is Shundra’s personal and professional mantra and mission. With a diverse occupational background in business, design and engineering, Shundra has learned the value of integrating and honing creativity and technical skills to realize vision and produce successful outcomes — in design, in business, and in life.

Shundra leads multidisciplinary projects and challenges her team to approach each project with inherent ingenuity and qualitative purpose that breeds meaningful designs to edify and lift the end-user(s). Shundra’s people-centered design philosophy is grounded in the concept that “we lead with empathy, employ wisdom and engage in dialogue”, which enriches the company’s value proposition.

Shundra is an avid volunteer and has held leadership roles as Past-President of ASID TX Gulf Coast Chapter and the Texas Association for Interior Design, ASID National Chapter Support Team Chair, ASID National Foundation Engagement Committee Chair and ASID National Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. 

Shundra is passionate about education and as a committed volunteer serves as an Exam Item Writer for CIDQ (Council for Interior Design Qualification), a Site Visitor for CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation), design juror, mentor and speaker. Shundra has taught professionally as an Adjunct Professor and has volunteered as a local Stephen Ministry instructor and has developed and taught CEUs with Making Sensory Design and Seminars by Design. Shundra now serves as managing partner of Seminars by Design. 

Through education, mentorship, advocacy, and diversity Shundra diligently lends her voice and time to “make an impact in her corner of the world”, helping to propel the vision and consistently communicate the message that design truly does impact lives and the environment.

Our Founders

Donna Vining, NCIDQ, FASID, IIDA, RID, CAPS, REGREEN Trained

Donna is Past-President of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). She is also Past- President of the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of ASID, and she served on the national board of ASID. Donna is also the Executive Director for her state coalition, Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID).

She is registered in the state of Texas and holds a NCIDQ certificate. A graduated from North Texas State University with a double major in Interior Design and Business. She is President of Vining Design Associates, Inc., in Houston. She won first place in the first Southern Accents/ASID kitchen contest, among other awards and is published frequently in local and national publications.

In addition to her interior consulting business, she is also a partner in Seminars by Design, a company that provides continuing education for interior designers.

Donna received her CAPS, Certified Aging in Place Specialist designation from the NAHB, National Association of Home Builders and her REGREEN Trained™ from ASID.

Her philosophy is that all interiors should be universally designed with the environment in mind. It is all about protecting the Health, Safety, and Welfare of the public.

Tom Schwenk

Tom Schwenk, Owner, Broker

With his successful history in Galveston, it is no wonder Tom Schwenk is now the owner and broker of a Coldwell Banker affiliate. Tom has owned property in Galveston since 1987 and became a full-time resident in 2001. He has been a real estate professional for more than 20 years. Tom has leadership positions on many community and civic organizations and is recognized as an historic home expert.
